John Scott was born and raised in Western New York. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati where he met his bride, Lynne. He is a retired CPA and CFP. His career before retirement included public accounting and 25 years in the Engineering and Construction industry from which he retired as Senior Vice President and CFO of a large international E&C firm.
John served as President of The Rotary Club of Lakeland South in 2001-2002. He has served as Assistant Governor (twice) and District 6890 Treasurer. He is currently Treasurer of the Rotary District 6890 Foundation and co – chairs the Lakeland Rotary 5K run.
In addition to his Rotary activities, John serves as Treasurer and Board member of several not – for profit organizations, including The Achievement Academy, Camp Rotary Foundation and The West Coast Square and Round Dance Association.
He is a member of First United Methodist Church and his hobbies include square and round dancing, fishing and travel. The Scotts have 3 children and 7 grandchildren residing in Atlanta and Lakeland.
